Nagpur Orange

Nagpur oranges are the crown jewel of India's citrus industry, holding a prestigious GI tag that recognises their unique origin in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Known as the Orange City of India, Nagpur and its surrounding districts of Amravati and Wardha produce approximately 60% of India's total orange output. These mandarin-type oranges are characterised by their deep orange skin, which peels effortlessly, and their exceptionally juicy segments bursting with sweet, tangy citrus nectar. The unique semi-arid climate of Vidarbha, with its hot summers and cool winters, creates the ideal stress conditions for orange development, concentrating sugars and Vitamin C in each fruit. A single medium-sized Nagpur orange provides nearly 80% of the daily recommended Vitamin C intake, making it a powerful immunity booster. They are best in season from November to February.
