Coorg Mandarin

Coorg mandarins, locally called Kurg Kittale, are grown in the verdant coffee and spice-growing hills of Kodagu (Coorg) district in Karnataka at elevations between 900 and 1200 metres. The misty mountain climate, rich forest-floor soil, and minimal chemical intervention produce mandarins with an exceptional natural sweetness and thin, easy-to-peel skin. Coorg mandarins are smaller than Nagpur oranges but pack a concentrated citrus flavour with a harmonious balance of sweetness and mild tartness. They are seedless or near-seedless, making them a convenient snacking fruit for children and adults alike. The segments separate cleanly and the juice is crystal clear and refreshing. These mandarins are an excellent source of Vitamin C, flavonoids, and hesperidin — a plant compound known for its anti-inflammatory and vascular health benefits. They are typically available from November to February. Perfect for fresh eating, juicing, and adding to festive fruit arrangements. Refrigerate to extend shelf life to 2 weeks.
