Banganapalli Mango

Banganapalli, also called Benishan or Safeda, is the most popular table mango variety of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and holds a GI tag recognising its origin in the Banganapalle region of Kurnool district. These large, oval mangoes have a beautiful golden-yellow skin when ripe with smooth, fibreless, butter-soft flesh and a rich, honey-sweet flavour. The fruit typically weighs between 250 to 400 grams each, making it one of the larger dessert mango varieties available. Banganapalli mangoes have a short but intense season from April to June, during which families across South India make the most of this beloved fruit. The flesh is deep golden in colour, virtually fibreless, and melts on the tongue with a rich sweetness balanced by subtle acidity. These mangoes are naturally ripened without the use of calcium carbide. They are excellent sources of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and natural enzymes that aid digestion.
