Compared to basmati, Sona Masoori has a slightly shorter grain, a lighter body, and is low in starch content, making it easy to digest and gentler on the stomach. Fortune Sona Masoori is double-sorted for stones and foreign matter and fortified with iron, folic acid, and Vitamin B12 under the FSSAI's rice fortification initiative.
